The book I will be sharing today is…
It’s an amazing book, and it has a great lesson to be learnt.
It’s about a boy, August Pullman, or Auggie. He has an illness, no it’s not that he’s handicapped, or he has something wrong with his brain, it’s because that he is born with a well, deformed face. He has something called mandibulofacial dysostosis and another illness, so it’s very rare. Anyways, those two illnesses somehow formed a new illness, a mutant gene.
August has been homeschooled by his mother since he has to go through 27 surgeries since he was born( yes, 27). So when he was 10, his mother decided to send him to Beecher Prep.
And of course, being that his face was different than others’, he was not very popular.
But everyone can fit in, even though they’re odd, and in the end, August was cool.
As I said before, this book has a great lesson learned, maybe it is ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’, or maybe it’s something else.
Thanks for reading,
